Used Book Sale

The 2008 AAUW Birmingham Branch Foundation Inc. Used Book Sale was a huge success. We appreciate the many members and friends who participated in this year’s event. Over half the Branch - or 150 women - worked on the sale either in the summer months or during the sale. It certainly was a group effort! Many of our new members worked and were able to meet other members and experience the camaraderie the sale fosters.

There was great attendance from teachers on Friday and Saturday; three charities came Sunday. We had wonderful collectibles of autographed books, first editions and unusual topics. Our sorters did a marvelous job of presenting only the best. Proceeds will benefit local scholarships, community programs and the Association's Educational Foundation. We appreciate the partnership with Bloomfield Hills Schools which allowed us the use of the Activity Building at the Charles Bower Farm for our sorting and storing. We are looking forward to the 82nd annual sale.
